The Jr. Knights are a private, not-for-profit, youth travel basketball club. We are 100% financially independent and receive no city, state or federal funding. The program’s roots have existed in our community for more than 30 years. After more than two decades at St. Ursula CYO, the program was restructured in 1999. Restructuring allowed us to shed the religious affiliation of the Catholic Church and open our doors to more of the city's youth. Our coaches are all dedicated volunteers who work closely with the MVHS coaching staff. Further, we do not permit parents to coach our teams, meaning our volunteer coaches are all truly committed to the game and your children ... and not for any other reason!
Preparing Tomorrow's Knights Today - Welcome To The Mount Vernon Jr. Knights !

The Mount Vernon Jr. Knights compete primarily in the Tri-County Basketball League of Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties in NY. We also occasionally participate in the Super League (Brewster, NY), Fairfield County Basketball League (CT), 8IE League (Patterson, NJ) and iS8 League (Queens, NY). The team's are often invited to select events and tournaments throughout the tri-state area as well. On average, a Jr. Knight team will play about 35 games between 11/1 and 3/15.
Here at the Jr. Knights, we do not believe in over playing games and will not cut back on practices to increase the game schedules. Each Jr. Knight player is expected to practice 2 to 3 times a week and meet our academic standards before they will be permitted to play in games.
While our program and it's participants have enjoyed great success on and off the court, we do recognize the level of commitment we demand isn't for everyone. We strongly encourage all parents to speak with our staff prior to sending their son or daughter to us. This only works if we are all on the same page.
Thank You - MVJK Staff.
